This handsome Meiji-Period bo dansu is made of japanese pine. It's in good condition, has an extensive scared surface which gives it a very authentic look. After all it is a tool chest and was most likely brought to every work site. The vertical locking bar is as most of the times, missing.

This unique, to Japan foreign influenced candle holder, dates to the end of the Meiji-period.

Metal top and bottom with wooden center.

These really stylish little mirrors were mostly used to apply the white make-up of Geishas and Maikos, but became increasingly popular in the Meiji-period. Although common, not to many will be found on the market, because of an old superstition, that one may see the former owner in it and inherit some of his tragedy. Therefore they will stay with the family or will be destroyed.
